As a gay man who has been working in motorsport for more than 20 years, almost all of it in Formula 1, often as apparently the only gay in the village to borrow that hackneyed phrase, I welcome the launch of Racing Pride. Things are improving for LGBTQ+ people in motorsport, which is great, but there’s still work to do. Life for an LGBTQ+ marketer in a British Formula 1 team, for example, is much easier than life for an LGBTQ+ race mechanic working in Asia. But Racing Pride is for everybody, and I wish it well and will do my bit to help.
