Autosport International Pride Hub creates safe space at Europe’s largest motorsport show
Racing Pride brought our Pride Hub to the prestigious Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham in January – marking our return to the largest motorsport show of its kind in Europe. The atmosphere within the Hub was extremely friendly and across the Show we welcomed a huge number of visitors. We are particularly grateful to Ami Jerger and her team AJRacing for lending us two of her karts to display at the Hub in their striking pink and blue liveries featuring the Racing Pride logo. Ami’s team, which aims to drive female success through karting, is fully inclusive of trans, gender fluid, and non-binary people, and Ami is a passionate supporter of Racing Pride’s mission. While attending the Autosport International Show, we ran a competition for members who joined or renewed their Racing Pride membership before the end of the Show. All new or renewed Memberships from the ASI week were entered to win tickets to the Goodwood Festival of Speed! We are excited to share that James Ran, one of our members from the Netherlands, has won a pair of tickets and will be able to explore all that the event has to offer, including a celebration of 75 years of Formula 1, and, of course, the Pride Hub! We’re proud to have brought together a comprehensive schedule of ambassador and VIP visits, giveaways and exclusive opportunities at Autosport this year – all while providing a safe space for Racing Pride members and welcoming members of the public in attendance at the event. We were delighted to be able to offer passes for the Show to a number of our members as part of the Pride Hub, which provided a focal point for our members to connect at the start of another exciting year. The Hub is a place for people to find out about the work that we do, and a safe space for all LGBTQ+ visitors to the Show to relax and find their community.
Across the event we were joined at the Hub by several of our incredible ambassadors and a range of VIP guests, including: Christian Hewgill – Racing Pride Ambassador, host of F1 Explains, and The Fast & The Curious presenter; Charlie Martin – Racing Pride Ambassador, Motorsport UK Inclusion Ambassador, and racing driver; Matt Drew – Racing Pride Ambassador and Electronics Department Production Controller at Oracle Red Bull Racing; Kerrie Sparling – Racing Pride Ambassador and Power Platform Development Manager at BWT Alpine F1 Team; our Racing Pride Community Engagement Officer Lucy Ball-Wood; and Richard Morris – Racing Pride Co-Founder & CEO, Motorsport UK Inclusion Ambassador, and racing driver.
