Racing Pride at the Autosport International Show 2024

Racing Pride enjoyed a hugely productive and uplifting time at the Autosport International Show to kickstart 2024. We were so lucky to have the chance to share the work we do to champion LGBTQ+ inclusion over four eventful days during the course of which we spoke with companies, industry professionals, competitors and fans across the motorsport industry.

Our stand was buzzing throughout the event, and we gathered a packed and engaged audience for our stage slot on Saturday. Our ambassadors Christian Hewgill, Matt Bishop, Jordan Rand and Richard Morris took to the stage to discuss their experiences, reflect on important topics for our community, and share some of the progress we’ve made at Racing Pride.

We received an overwhelming amount of interest and support from everyone at the show, and we would like to thank everyone who paid us a visit at our panels and stand. Racing Pride had many notable visitors who took a keen interest in our work. Crofty gave a lot of his time to speak with members on our stand, and our ambassadors were kept busy with numerous media interviews.

As well as this, we hosted an extremely enjoyable event on Saturday evening in collaboration with Girls Across The Grid attended by 80 of our combined members. This incredible event brought some great opportunities for Racing Pride members to network and meet more people with a shared passion for the sport.

As Richard Morris said at the event: “LGBTQ+ inclusion and gender diversity within the sport are inextricably linked: both of our organisations are working to break down stereotypes of who ‘belongs’ in this space and to show that it can be welcoming for all”.

Two of our members, Barry and Hudson, even scored two VIP ticket upgrades from our prize draw. They were able to access the VIP lounge as well as other exclusive areas of the show. We heard they really loved the buffet during the Live Action Arena!

We would like to give a huge thanks to the Autosport International team, PitBox91, our ambassadors and volunteers, Motorsport Network, Girls Across the Grid, all of the journalists wanting to platform our work, and to Revolution Race Cars who supplied Richard’s championship-winning car that featured at our stand.

Racing Pride savoured some very special and touching moments at the Autosport International Show, and we hope everyone had as great of a time as we did.
